Dreamtreks tours announce new 2013 Italy brochure
Dreamtreks, a small boutique travel company that specialises in exclusive adventure walking tours and treks, recently returned from escorting another highly successful group tour to Southern Italy. The 2012 tours covered three destinations including the beautiful Amalfi Coast; the new must see areas of Puglia/Basilicata and sensational Sicily, providing contrasting insight into the culture, history and natural attributes of this breathtaking region of Italy. Due to its continued success Dreamtreks is very proud to announce their new and exciting Italy brochure for 2013.
Find a Group Expert
Dreamtreks believe that travellers can get a far better feel and deeper understanding of a destination they are visiting by exploring these destinations on foot, rather than from a car or bus window, and that travelling in a small group also ensures a very special and unique travel experience.
For Dreamtreks, travelling in a small group allows the flexibility to suit independent travellers whilst offering the security and support that group travellers often seek on these adventures. During their tours and treks Dreamtreks focuses on providing the best possible experience by including many special extras for a truly memorable trip, like using local guides that have a wealth of knowledge and a network of contacts that would fill a ‘Sim card’, allowing groups the opportunity to go to places that large groups often can’t (and independent travellers don’t necessarily know about) - the best of both worlds.
There are three amazing Dreamtreks tours available to book from the new 2013 Italy brochure:
Amalfi Coast – 1 June 2013 to 7 June 2013 (7 days, 6 nights)
The Amalfi Coast is a compact area which is explored mainly from the numerous local walking paths. Stay in the heart of the Amalfi Coast at the villages of Amalfi and Positano and take in the smell of rosemary and lemon groves wafting in the warm air or lunch on a high terrace looking out over the beautiful Mediterranean, feasting on fresh local produce and sipping famous Amalfi Limoncello. Enjoy a diverse range of walks from the famous Path of the Gods to the Valley of the Mills and around the Isle of Capri with plenty of spare time to shop, eat and swim.
Puglia and Basilicata – 7 June 2013 – 13 June 2013 (7 days, 6 nights)
Puglia and Sicily are broader regions that require vehicle transport together with walking to truly appreciate what they have to offer.
Puglia is a food bowl of Italy and this trip is a feast all the way. There are many beautiful meals to be had and the farmhouse lunches of antipasto, pasta, meat dishes and desserts prepared from organic produce, from local gardens are among the best. The scenery provides rolling wheat fields, vineyards and olive groves sharing the countryside with castles, cathedrals and caves, stretching from the Adriatic to the Ionian Sea.
Sicily – 13 June 2013 – 19 June 2013 (7 days, 6 nights)
Sicily is an island of amazing contrast from ancient ruins to quaint villages, volcanic mountains to sandy beaches and rich farmlands to vibrant cities. Enjoy a fantastic walk on Mt Etna, a fun cooking lesson on a country farm after visiting a cheese making factory, explore the ancient Greek Temples at Agrigento and a walk around beautiful Palermo.
In addition to these amazing experiences travellers on a Dreamtreks tour can also expect a fascinating and exclusive tour of Italy’s ‘secret side’ along the way. Discover the hidden world of underground Naples, visit and stay in old Matera and the UNESCO world heritage listed ‘Sassi’ where you can retrace the origins of mankind from the Prehistoric Age to present day, the village of Alberobello and the famous ‘Trulli houses’, the cathedral of Ortranto famous for the incredible mosaic floor and the beautiful Lecce, ‘the Florence of the South’.
Dreamtreks invites you to be part of the growing numbers to these exciting adventure walks and can organise private trips for individuals or groups as small as two. Alternative destinations are available upon request if the departure dates for 2013 do not suit. In addition to Italy, the Dreamtreks 2013 program also offers a wide range of ‘specialist’ treks in Nepal.
