MTA mission supporter sells 2 tickets to space
The intrepid adventurers, who have purchased these two tickets and who wish to remain anonymous, are thrilled and cannot wait to become one of the first-ever “astronauts” to board the first commercial space flight with 450 fellow Virgin Galactic astronauts, as soon as possible. In fact so much so, they are planning to "upgrade" to Pioneer class in the near future in order to jump the queue by around 200 seat numbers.
Over a celebratory bottle of champagne they told MTA – Mobile Travel Agents Owners and Co-Founders, Roy and Karen Merricks that they are very much looking forward to being invited to the many milestone events associated with the project leading up to the first commercial space flights, and meeting likeminded people in the process.
At this stage the first commercial flights appear likely to commence sometime in 2013/14 and around 500 civilians will be officially recognised by the FAA as astronauts in the first year of operations.
