- Hike to one of East Maui’s spectacular waterfalls for an intimate detour along the scenic road to Hana.

MTA Product Coordinator, Janita Allwright, recently returning from Maui also provides a few personal tips for Honeymooners on the magical island here.

- Hiring a car is the biggest tip for Maui, it's an easy island to drive around and there is so much to see and experience all over the island.

- The resorts are world class and most offer sea views out to the Pacific. Within the resorts there are plenty of activities for couples. Romantic coastal walks are a great way to stumble across giant monk seals basking in the sun, sea turtles, and the sight of humpback whales.
A traditional Hawaiian Canoe experience is a must and usually needs to be reserved well in advanced.

- The friendly islanders are more than happy to let you in on local Maui hot spots. So, take advantage of the roads less travelled and discover less ‘touristy’ secluded bay’s and beaches that you may otherwise not have come across.

- Try the local cuisine - sip a coconut or try one of many fish taco and mango stalls along the coastline. The Maui locals all have their favourites - try them all!
At dusk make your way to the beach where you’ll find the ocean lapping up on the sand, a silhouette of surfers, sailors and stand up paddle boarders with the sun setting over the ocean.

- At night indulge in world class eateries and casual island entertainment. A Hawaiian Luau is a wonderful cultural experience where you enjoy colourful island dancing, a Hawaiian feast, cocktails and a chance to learn the history of Hawaii.
