Wizard Chambers at Georgian House Hotel

Wizard Chambers At Georgian House Hotel

Until now, excited Harry Potter fans seeking the complete Harry Potter experience have had to settle for a local hotel or else return home after the magical Studio Tour. Now, however, the Georgian House hotel can provide total immersion in Harry Potter’s world.

Designed to appeal to all Potter fans, young and old, the Wizard Chambers have been created to give the guest the experience of staying in a Hogwarts-like dormitory, complete with four-poster beds and curious artefacts.

The two rooms feature faux castle details such as stained glass windows, stonewalls, gothic arches, trunks, portraits and beds hung with red and yellow velvet curtains. Wood burning stoves, cauldrons in fireplaces and tapestries complete the look. Every room in the hotel is furnished to highlight its unique architecture, and the Wizard chambers gave us the opportunity to showcase our impressive design skills.

No other hotel can offer a magic-themed bedroom to stay in as part of a perfect Harry Potter visit to London which can include the Warner Bros Studio Tour and the Muggle Walking Tour. The Studio Tour has a bus that leaves from Victoria station, only a few minutes’ walk from the hotel. The Muggle Walking tour is a hugely entertaining way of combining sightseeing with Harry Potter’s world.

The Wizard Chambers can be found on the lower ground floor of the nineteenth -century family-run hotel. A portrait-lined passageway leads to the two rooms available, one with an antique four poster double bed thought to have come from Woburn Abbey, and a large family suite which has 1 four poster single and 1 four poster double bed in the first room, and a half-tester double bed in the second room, perfect for parents.

When guests arrive, the rooms are decorated with candles and Harry Potter music echoes eerily throughout, to create a truly mystical atmosphere.

Partner, manager and great great granddaughter of the hotel’s builder, Serena von der Heyde, commented: “We have been amazed and delighted by the response to the Wizard Chambers. I myself have been stunned by the number of young couples drawn to rooms, perhaps drawn to the nostalgia of their childhood in the world of Harry Potter.”
